Fright Night (1985)

Charley Brewster is a young man who loves horror movies. While in his bedroom with his girlfriend, he sees a coffin being transported to the house next door. A couple of days later, he concludes that his new neighbor, Jerry Dandrige, is a vampire. The thing is – nobody believes Charley.

It doesn’t take long for Dandridge to try and kill Charley in his own bedroom, which is is when Charley realizes that the monster must be destroyed.

Since nobody believes him, Charley’s only hope is Peter Vincent, a vampire killer in Charley’s favorite horror TV show – Fright Night. Vincent has his doubts, but for some money he’ll be glad to listen.
Charley’s friend and girlfriend also meet Vincent and together they are trying to prove to Charley that Dandrige is not a vampire.

While this movie can be quite predictable at some points and feel a bit outdated, it’s still a fun movie to watch. It has its creepy moments.
The makeup and special effects are pretty good too.

The Bottom Line

One of the better vampire films to come out during the ’80s. I liked it.
